Why Machinery Maintenance For Extended Life Was Started
A Message from Don Searles

For 10 years, I worked as a mechanic for Caterpillar dealers and highway contractors.  For the past 30 years, I have personally designed, built, operated and repaired the machinery used by my companies in dredging, scrap metal processing, landfill operation and garbage hauling.

Early on, I learned that when my equipment was down for some type of repair, I had no income.  I also got hit with the cost of parts and labor to make the repairs.  The double loss from breakdowns, caused me to learn and apply methods that would extend the life of lubricants, engines, transmissions and hydraulic systems.  I became very passionate about learning and applying everything possible to extend life.  These efforts have been very rewarding on my equipment.  During the past year I have conducted extensive studies, conducted the filtration testing that are shown on this site, completed a classroom-training course on oil analysis and lubrication, and passed the certification test to become a Machinery Lubricant Analyst.

I believe that my knowledge and experience in extending life has value in helping people and companies to also extend the life of their lubricants and machinery.   For those reasons, I started Machinery Maintenance For Extended Life.  We are providing consulting services and implementation of practical filtration and oil analysis solutions.

I believe that you will find the article, “Are Equipment Manufacturers Working in Your Best Interest” to be very interesting.  It shows why MMEL was started.  To view it click on the link.

The sooner you contact us and get started with the MMEL program the sooner, you will start:
